Seafood Stories: Know Thy Fisherman, with Chefs Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski

Sustainable Seafood Dining Experience at The Progress

San Francisco, CA -- James Beard award-winning chefs Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski, along with local fishermen will present “Seafood Stories: Know Thy Fisherman,” on Tuesday, August 30 at 6:00pm.

This special addition to the monthly Seafood Stories dining series, co-hosted by Fish Revolution and Fine & Rare, will feature a five-course dinner prepared by the co-owners of State Bird Provisions and The Progress, paired with conversations by local fishermen and special guests. The event will be held at The Workshop, a private event space within The Progress.

“Seafood Stories: Know Thy Fisherman” will benefit Fish Revolution, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health of oceans by educating and empowering businesses and consumers on their seafood choices and impact to the health of our oceans.

“Chefs Stuart and Nicole embody the spirit of Seafood Stories and Fish Revolution, with their shared commitment to saving our ocean, one meal at a time, while creating a unique, memorable and delicious experience,” said Fish Revolution Founder Crystal Sanders.

In between courses, local fishermen will share true fish tales with diners of how they have reeled in successful operations without further jeopardizing the health of San Francisco Bay and our oceans.

“Let's continue to evolve the story and deepen the connection with our fisherman who are on the front lines of the ocean and know it best," said Chef Stuart Brioza.

Seafood Stories launched in February 2016 as a monthly pop-up dining series, featuring acclaimed chefs with a shared dedication to the health of our ocean. Through dinner and conversation, co-hosts Fine & Rare and Fish Revolution aim to empower diners to improve ocean health through their seafood purchases. Each dinner features the story of a specific fish species, fishermen, chef, or relevant topic in ocean conservation. Previous Seafood Stories dinners have featured meals planned by chefs from 25 Lusk, Fish, and Ichido. Seafood Stories launched this February in Hawaii with chefs including Ed Kenney and will return to the islands this September, along with additional San Francisco dinners in September and October.

Tickets for the multi-course meal are $125 and available at www.seaworthyfish.com/tickets. Optional wine and Calicraft beer pairings are also available for an additional $40.
